Settling In

Clearly there's a lack in square feet, storage space and seating but
I'd say my apartment is getting its act together somehow.

Creative Street

I love how slow Sundays are that it allows me to do leisurely strolls without the maddening crowd.
Sheung Wan, specifically around the neighborhood of Hollywood Road and Bridge Street is an area I'd love to move in to because of the quietness and inspiring surroundings. Perhaps when I settle down and start a family, I will look for say a 2 bedroom apartment with a terrace that has a jealous view of Blake Garden.
This afternoon I walked into a street where an art and flower jamming was in session.
For a small fee, you could paint or arrange flowers all day. I'd say it's the perfect therapy.

La Petit Mumu

It pays to be curious.

While browsing and making a mental notes of what I liked in Kapok Lifestyle Store in Sun Street, a certain area of the shop slash cafe was being prepped for what looked like a launch.
I approached the lady, who uncannily resembles Armi Millare of Up Dharma Down, arranging the dolls.

This lady turned out to be Fion Ko, illustrator and creator of Le Petit Mumu.

I chatted with her a bit and learned that she just finished an exhibition of her illustrations in Taiwan and went back to Hong Kong, her hometown, to work with a toy manufacturer to create a second run of limited edittion Mumu toys. Instantly I became a fan. She asked me to stay and have cupcakes and tea.

St. Francis Yard

St. Francis Yard just off Queen's Road in Wanchai is a street burgeoning with interesting worldly shops, cafes and art studios. I got to know more about this street one Sunday after church..

It's where the only Monocle Shop in Asia is located. Another good find is Kapok Clothing store which sells goods from Sweden, France and Japan.

Blooms and Succulents

After a typhoon 8 followed by a 3, the city finds respite in fresh blooms and succulents.
And a happy teacher's day to the bestest teacher in the world, Mom!
